Popular Post jehuteh
I finally saved enough to get a new scrollsaw and I went with the Dewalt 788. I love this scrollsaw but I had to buy an arm lifter for it and it works great!!!! My old craftsman was starting to show it’s age even though it was a great saw to me. Just the size difference alone is great. WayneMahler, OCtoolguy, bobscroll and 7 others

Foxfold
It looks great. I hope you have many happy hours on it. I wish mine had an arm lifter OCtoolguy
JimErn
Congrats, you will enjoy the step up. What you can see of the shop, it looks so organized. Wonder if there is a shop organizer you can hire like there is for closets - ahh I'd mess it up after they left anyway. bobscroll, jehuteh and OCtoolguy 1

jehuteh
I really can’t get over how quiet it is, I had to wear ear muffs with my old saw. I got the arm lifter from Www.papasworkshop.org OCtoolguy
kmmcrafts
Wow, that's a nice step up.. I never did try the arm lifter for my DeWalt.. I used what was called the Jim Dandy easy lift.. which I believe came out before the lifter did.. Don't hear much about the easy lift these days.. maybe he's not selling them anymore.. Have fun making lots of projects and sawdust.. OCtoolguy
OCtoolguy
Congrats on your new saw. You will love it. I also did the Jim Dandy as Kevin did. The Dewalt is a great saw for the money.

scrollingforsanity
Nice saw, always nice to get new tools. I wish my shop was as clean as yours. Even after I clean it it's not that clean. Enjoy making sawdust with your new saw. grizz OCtoolguy

bandaideman
enjoy your upgrade and from the look of the shop area you need it to get more dust around the shop. Wow you keep things neat and clean . Do you give classes in clean. bobscroll and OCtoolguy 1
Bill WIlson
Nice. Congrats. I went from a Craftsman to a DeWalt many years ago. That was a big step up in quality and really enhanced the enjoyment of the hobby. If you don't already have one, a footswitch is another great accessory. I would recommend one for any saw, but they almost were a necessity with the DeWalts a few years ago. DeWalts had a chronic problem with the on/off switch getting flaky because of dust getting inside and on the contacts. I don't hear much about that problem these days, so maybe they solved it, but the footswitch is still a great addition to any scroll saw. bobscroll and OCtoolguy 1

poupster2
I'm sure you will love the DeWalt 788. I went from a delta 40-540 to a Dremel 1680 and then ... 10 years ago to a DeWalt 788. Even if I would never go back to my older models, they were great and they made me enjoy my 788 even more. I'm sure you will too!!! I now have Two DeWalt 788! bcdennis
My Dewalt lasted longer than any other saw I have owned. You will love it. OCtoolguy
