Wow, that's a nice step up.. I never did try the arm lifter for my DeWalt.. I used what was called the Jim Dandy easy lift.. which I believe came out before the lifter did..  Don't hear much about the easy lift these days.. maybe he's not selling them anymore..

Have fun making lots of projects and sawdust..

Nice.  Congrats.  I went from a Craftsman to a DeWalt many years ago.  That was a big step up in quality and really enhanced the enjoyment of the hobby.

If you don't already have one, a footswitch is another great accessory.  I would recommend one for any saw, but they almost were a necessity with the DeWalts a few years ago.  DeWalts had a chronic problem with the on/off switch getting flaky because of dust getting inside and on the contacts.  I don't hear much about that problem these days, so maybe they solved it, but the footswitch is still a great addition to any scroll saw.

I'm sure you will love the DeWalt 788. I went from a delta 40-540 to a Dremel 1680 and then ... 10 years ago to a DeWalt 788.

Even if I would never go back to my older models, they were great and they made me enjoy my 788 even more.

I'm sure you will too!!!  I now have Two DeWalt 788!
