Iguanadon
Market season kicked off Easter weekend. As previously reported, the first day was a rainout for me and did well the 2nd day. Two more events since then Event 1 - 56 puzzles sold (about the same as last year for day 2) Event 2 - 69 puzzles sold (11 short compared to last year) Event 3 (yesterday) - 39 puzzles sold (8 short compared to last year) My weekly market starts up next week and I'll do it every Saturday that it isn't raining. It's only 5 hours (8am to 1pm) and I average 22 puzzles each week. Next big event is week of July 4th, three days long, sold 132 last year. Now for my possible issue... My day job decided to give me a promotion last week and I'm afraid it'll affect some of my puzzle cutting time. We'll see. If I have to give up some of my weekly markets in order to ensure adequate inventory for the big events, that's what I'll do. kmmcrafts
Congrats on the promotion.. but I must say.. It sucks to have work interfere with business... why I quit working 20 years ago.. I've been on many different journeys since then from running my own autobody shop to lawn care to selling tractor parts on eBay.. I must say.. this scroll saw / woodworking has been by far the most fulfilling less stress business / work I've done.. Not as big of an income but money isn't everything in life.. so long as I can pay bills and put a little aside.. meflick

Unfortunately we've grown accustomed to the income from the day job and of course the benefits (health care primarily)... Even with the puzzles and the tourist map/guide business I can't walk away. The map/guide business has allowed Mrs. Iggy the luxury of quitting her job, so at least one member of the family is enjoying the carefree life. kmmcrafts, Scrolling Steve and meflick

The journey isn't always easy.. but nether is day jobs.. as for health insurance.. you'd be surprised how cheap that really is for self employed.. there is tax breaks for the self employed and small business's.. My wife quit her job last year.. we pay less for health insurance than what she was paying out of her portion plus the deductibles etc. from the insurance that her workplace offered.. and we had a much better insurance plan that was geared towards more of what OUR needs were compared to the 2 generic plans her work offered.. Not saying quit your day job, LOL... Just saying everything... job/career/self employment/ small business etc etc.. isn't always easy.. nor is it for everyone.. what matters most is that people are happy doing what they do.. since work/business etc etc.. is what 90% of what we do in our lives.. don't waist time doing something you hate for your whole life.. Woodmaster1
It stinks that a job interferes with your other job. If you enjoy both you will find a happy medium and be successful in both. You have more things going on than I ever had. Good luck with you new job!
