OCtoolguy
Les, if that sounds reasonable, what do you think of this. Go for the 20 sheets at 12x24 for same price. This way if you need it bigger you got it. Or you can cut some 8x 12 and get three out of one . Just a thought OCtoolguy

Rockytime
I guess that's why I buy 3/16" underlayment for real cheap. 4X8 about $12. I can afford to waste it. Surface looks just like the pricey stuff from Woodcraft. OCtoolguy

Rockytime
Sometimes it's labeled Birch plywood. (Not Baltic Birch, just Birch ply) Sometimes labeled underlayment. I find mine in the areas where Poplar and Oak is found in various lengths. 1/4" Baltic Birch is 4 or 5 ply. The 3/16" is 3 ply. Even so it cuts nicely, using a #1 Pegas MG blade I found little tear out on back and finishes well. Results for others may vary. Rockytime
OOPS! I said I bought 4X8' but should have said 2X4'. Old age does that. OCtoolguy

Rockytime
What I buy is 3/16 not 1/8. Also I can't get a 11X14 out of a 12X12 sheet. There is a lot of waste on 12X12.

I'll take a look there but I sure don't recall seeing it. But, after calculating what Les bought, I don't see the real cost savings over buying a sheet of true B/BB plywood. kmmcrafts
It's too bad some of you can't find a local source for the full 60 x 60 inch sheet.. I buy mine this way.. one sheet cost $12.75 for 1/8 inch.. But the more you buy the better the price.. I buy 10 sheets at a time and my cost is $11.05.. per sheet.. 1/4 inch is $16.50 per sheet or $14.30 for 10+ sheets.. I don't use the 1/4 much so I only get a few sheets at a time.. Getting the full sheet allows you to make the blanks any size you want, LOL Edited May 12, 2019 by kmmcrafts JTTHECLOCKMAN and OCtoolguy 1
JTTHECLOCKMAN
I agree with Kevin on buying full sheets to a point. Just a point to add to that. If you are using alot of it this is the cheapest way for sure and if you can pick and choose, even better. But you need a system to store it if you do not go through it regularly because it will warp and warp it will. Now if you could buy large sheets and cut down to a size you are normally using then it would make it easier to store. I use to do this but have come to realization I do not use much of it so I just started paying a little more and bought what I needed in the sizes I use most. Makes for easy storage flat. I have started making small jigs with this stuff so I may have to rethink this again. But as mentioned there is an option from the big box stores and I have used the so called birch plywood and floor underlayment for things as well. Happy scrolling. NC Scroller
Likewise I get my Baltic Birch in full 5'x5' (60"x60") sheets from a dealer. I typically go through 5 or 6 sheets per year. Though they are not as cheap as where Kevin gets his it is still cheaper then getting pieces off of eBay or other internet sources. They even cut it in half width wise for free so it makes it easier to transport and store. OCtoolguy

Glad you mentioned that.. as I sometimes forget that I go through more material than most others do... I typically run through 20+ sheets a year.. though I only buy 10 at a time.. because as you say.. you don't want it setting around too long.. I do also chop several sheets down to size.. but also keep a few sheets cut into 3rds. ( 20 x 60 inch ) for those odd jobs I might need a larger piece than what I typically use..
