Just a little this and that. Yesterday my wife started rearranging things in my shop. The things I cut are just in a pile. I really have no use for most of the stuff. She says I'm wasting space and need to be more efficient. 😯 Anyway my wife being a nest freak started moving things. Somethings went to the trash, somethings for white elephant gifts and some things for those I don't really appreciate. That'll show 'em. Another thing, she swept my shop complaining the little pieces of wood hurt when she walks around my shop barefoot. Wear shoes and you don't need to sweep. But what do I know?  I have a small pancake compressor I purchased long ago from HF. I paid $30 for it. It had been returned but they would allow me to return it if not satisfied. Noisy little sucker. When needing to use my nail gun or stapler I would wheel my much larger compressor into the shop. It's a pain just to put drive just a few small nails. I dug out the little pancake compressor to see if it would drive the nail gun. Surprisingly It did. I can't lift much and I don't like dragging things. I spent a little time making a base with kind of wheels. I got these things from HF. I go there a lot as they are only minutes from my home. They are like big ball bearings and only $1.99 each. The screws I used on them were just a trifle long and I did not want to go to ACE for just 8 screws. I cut off the extended screws with a Dremel tool. It ain't purdy and makes noise when rolling along the floor. I guess the plywood sort of amplifies the sound. When I use the little bugger I take out my hearing aids and put on ear protection. I do the same when using my little router. Both are noisy little suckers. Hope I haven't bored anyone too badly.

Sounds like you have been productive.  good idea on that compressor.

Funny talking about sweeping the floor.  I do my work in my dining room.  I only do scrolling so not a lot of sawdust but still its unavoidable.

Yesterday I was making a chicken salad sandwich, just made a whole tupperware thing full of it.

Of course, I dropped the whole turrepware thing on the shop floor face down.  Seemed ok so I just scraped it all up with a spatula and will eat it again for lunch today.  lol

You let your wife clean up and re-arrange your shop!  Oh horror of horrors!!!

I'm afraid if my wife tried that, it would be the end of our 40+ year marriage.  She hates clutter and my shop is the epitome of clutter.  Look up clutter in the dictionary and it will have a picture of my shop.  I don't want anyone "cleaning" it up for me.  I like my clutter, thank you very much.

Fortunately for me,  my wife has zero interest in my shop.  She sticks her head in the door to tell me I have a phone call or let me know supper is ready.  Other than that, as long as I keep the door shut so she can't see in there and I don't track sawdust upstairs, she doesn't care what it looks like.  😄

Les, thanks for keeping the conversations open. I've noticed a lag here too. I figured that the weather must be nice once again and folks are moving back out to the shop. Here, it's been very windy and it rattles my shop roof since it's really nothing more than the awning over our driveway. Anyway, I'm happy that you are active. I have a similar compressor but mine is a 6 gallon. I have it nested under my workbench and I have a really long hose that I can run outside if necessary. About the only thing that I air up out there anymore are the two tires on my dolly. About once every 2 years. So, I just use mine for my nailers and to blow off a piece after sanding prior to finishing. My wife knows better than to touch anything in my shop. If I didn't keep my eye on her, she'd toss everything that didn't look like it was valuable. Like I said in a prior post, I have the "packrat" gene and there are many things out there that she thinks should be put BACK into the dumpster that I dug them out of. "One man's trash" and all that.

Crupeia, there is something knowns as "the 5 second rule" and I abide by it totally. It grosses my wife out when I pick up something I've dropped and eat it. Waste not, want not!

Looks like you've had some quality shop time... Neat little compressor.. I've always wanted s small portable compressor.. The one I have I bought back when I was doing a lot of body work, I wanted one big enough to handle a sandblaster.. so I have  a 5hp two stage with a 60 gallon vertical tank.. I use it plenty but nothing like I used to so many times I think it's just wasted space.. but then when I get my pressure blaster out or the blast cabinet.. I remember why I still have it.. Same goes for my Lincoln wire welder.. don't use them much anymore but sure nice to have on hand without having to hunt down someone that has one I can borrow.

I've been busy in the shop but not really scroll sawing much.. I've only put 15 hours on the saws this week.. Got a lot going on.. My tractor blew a head gasket last winter while plowing snow.. now I need it running to cut the lawn.. so put new gaskets in this week and then while putting the thing back together I broke the starter solenoid so got that on order.. My older van blew the rack & pinion seals.. they've been leaking for a year or more.. It's getting pretty rough shape so I never bothered to change it out.. just said last year to the wife that when that blows out I'm scrapping the van.. so.. now I'm swapping parts since I have another van just like it so anything that's in better condition on one I'm swapping the parts around before I take it on it's last drive to the scrap yard.. Been a good old van.. and given me 12 years of great service.. I bought it used for about $1800 with about 150,000 miles.. now shes just shy of 300,000 miles.. never put a dime in that van other than just regular maintenance..  Wife wants a Jeep like I bought a couple years back for my daughter.. so I've been jeep shopping too.. Also put some more of my CNC machine together.. got my coolant containers for both the CNC and the laser.. I might get one or the other fired up before June, LOL..

Our weather has been chilly still.. for the time of year.. and it been just rainy for several weeks.. shops just long enough to get the grass cut.. boy gotta get this tractor running.. I have 2 acre of lawn.. and the 21" push mower makes a bit of work.. Lucky me.. I have kids to help do it 🙂  but making them work like that makes the refrigerator go empty faster for some reason..

My husband and I share the garage, he is a carpenter.  I keep my area relatively clean and tidy and know where everything is, a place for everything and everything in its place.  His larger area always looks as if a bomb as gone off and when he does clean up and puts things away he can never find things for a few weeks, until he's not looking for them really.
