Scrappile
clamp move.m4v I notice that there seems to be quite a bit of play in my Pegas clamps mounted on my Seyco. I know they can't be tight but should the move much? May have to re-install the old ones to see how much "play" the have side to side when mounted. Not sure you can tell by this video. dgman
I don’t know about the Seyco or EX type saws, but the clamps on DeWALT saws are loose like that. Once tensioned, they don’t move. OCtoolguy and Scrappile 1
kmmcrafts
That's how mine are on the EX.. and that is also how they were with the original ones.. being loose like that keeps it from binding and breaking something.. Scrappile
Good to know, thanks guys. OCtoolguy
OCtoolguy
Like everybody else has said, once tightened and ready to saw, does the slop go away? My EX is loose but not quite that loose. Once the lever is thrown, it's tight and all good. I love my saw with the Pegas clamps. Scrappile
bandaideman
I think I am about to get clamps for my Ex and the dewalt wouldn't hurt either. I am confused with the Dewalt since it is tensioned up front ( like the little girl who wants to know if mom wash dishes before what does the dishwasher do. With the Dewalt if you get the lever what would the lever do? OCtoolguy
dgman
There is a specific set of clamps for the DeWALT saw. The upper clamp does not have the tension lever. John B

With the Dewalt if you get the lever what would the lever do? I was going to get a set for my Dewalt but ended up selling it. I was going to put the EX set on it because of how easy it is to flip the lever over turning the wheel. I figured that I could set the tension once with the wheel after a blade change and then just use the lever until the next change. To me, it was just easier and having both saws set up the same way made sense. Muscle memory and all. Scrappile
bandaideman
Thanks Ray now I got how it works with Dewalt. I go back and forth between the two saws and muscle memory is true I never know to turn or push and release. OCtoolguy

I feel I get a better grip on the blade with the Pegas, but it could just be newer clamps. OCtoolguy

I prefer the lever over the wheel. JMHO. John B
John B
Had me buggered to for awhile Paul. I wasn't sure if the washers should go between the arm and the clamps or on the outside. There was much more side to side movement with the Pegas then with the original. In the end I reckoned it would be much trouble trying to get those tiny washers between and slip the bolt through at the same time so put them on the outside. Doesn't seem to be a problem. Sometimes the easy road is the right road OCtoolguy and Scrappile
