Need some opinions

 I have a lot of Frameless portraits with felt backing, just wondering if any one has sold something like this and if so  have you any luck most of mine are 8x10 and a few 8 1/2 x 11. and  in what price range. any suggestions would be helpful.

I might be able to help you some.My early portraits were frameless,but not felt backing.I had no problem selling them. I sold mine according to where I was.I hope this helps in some small way.

I sell all my portrait work un-framed... but I do state they are designed to be framed since I make them from 1/8 material some are quite fragile.. What the customer actually does I don't know.. I do put a backer on them.. not felt though since I don't care for felt.. I use foam sheets from the craft stores.. 

I used to sell them framed.. but I tend to sell them better unframed.. I don't like framed because everyone has a different frame taste for every project.. and what matches their decor style... sometimes I display them in a frame but I don't sell it framed..

I don't sell mine with just a felt backer. I normally mount the felt on a backer board then attach the fret work to it. I frame most of my work and they seem to do well for me. As for pricing things, that has proven to be location dependent as some areas I go in varies in the amount of money available.

Thanks Guys, I may give it a shot on my outdoor show in  October, will put them in a container and sell them for $15, since  my ones in the frame I sell for $25-$30. Cant really lose as they are taking up room.

Try to display them. People don't want to dig through anything to see if there is something they want. Think of going to a grocery store and having assorted cans dumped in a cart and you get to dig through to find a can of soup. RJF

Howdy neighbor, 

I sell might near ever' thing I create frameless unless the customer says different. Most all my projects are 1/2" hardwoods.

I round my edges on the face side with a 1/2" roundover bit & the router. That kinda gives the project a more finished look if ya don't create a frame fer it. 

Sometimes, on them rounded edges of the project, dependin on the breed of lumber, I'll take some gel stain & go around them outside edges just to shine up the project.
