Travis
Wow. That looks great! How wide of poplar did you end up using? Was it just regular 1x6"? I've had my eye on that book too. How do you like it? Good job on the cutting!
joscrolls
Travis, I had some 8" wide poplar, yes, 1" (which is actually 3/4" for those who don't know the confusing way wood sizes can be ) The only thing they don't mention in the book is when you go to cut the basket part-at an angle-the HOLES should also be drilled at an angle. Otherwise, the book is very clear, and gives step by step instructions for bandsaws and scrollsaws. I actually use both-cut the straight lines quick with the bandsaw(like the base), sand it perfect with my disc sander, then cut the rest with the scrollsaw.
