Popular Post Scrappile
Haven't finished much lately. Waiting for my hand to heal up and so many new things I am trying to work at. I did finish cutting this this evening and I really like it. This is a Charles Hand pattern caller "Tigris" pattern "orno5". Says it is approx. 215 cuts, but I really feel it is more. Took me awhile and not finished. I have to sand it and finish applied. I want to mount it on a red background as pictured, only maybe silk...pictured it is sitting on felt. This pattern was unique to me. It said it was a challenge, and it was, only for me in the time it took. But I also felt it was a good pattern for someone that was wanting to do detailed fretwork. I gave lots of practice. Many of the same cuts repeated only getting smaller and smaller with each one... A close look at it will show what I am trying to describe. Anyway, although it took me a long time to cut... I really enjoyed it and have another one of his ornate ones to do. Thanks @Charles Hand Edited June 12, 2019 by Scrappile GPscroller, oldhudson, Charles Hand and 12 others 13
wombatie
WOW that is a beauty. How big is it Paul? Did you start in the middle and work your way out? It looks so fragile. I take my hat off to you, excellent work. Marg Scrappile

Marg It is approx.. 11" across x 12" tall, I started at the top of the right side worked that half down to the nose, then did the left down to the nose and the the rest. 1 hour ago, Scrolling Steve said: Wow!..I like it Paul...Wonderful work !.......What blades did you use ? Went through a lot of blades using a Pegas #3R Reverse Skip. I was cutting 2 1/4" BB stacked. It really ate up the blades. Lost some pieces on the bottom piece of the stack, don't think I can save it. I will try a different blade when I get around to cutting the elephant. amazingkevin, wombatie and Scrolling Steve

Wilson142
Beautiful piece! Certainly looks like more than 215 cuts to me. And using Pegas #3R Reverse Skip blades. That's a lot of turning. Did you do some breath holding when removing your pattern? amazingkevin and Scrappile 1

Start and work on it from time to time. I usually have a few projects going at a time so I can switch around. Work on one a while the set it aside and work on something else for a while. rdatelle
You did a great job on that Paul. I can see where it would be a challenge. I stack cut a lot of BB to and it does eat up a lot of blades. Scrappile

Rockytime
That is no less than stunning! Beautiful work. I too have been cutting 2 up 3/16" plywood with Pegas 2/0 MG and the blades do not last very long. Scrappile

Sycamore67
I normally do not comment on this type project but this is outstanding. I have no idea how you did so many intricate cuts without breakage. You did a great job! Scrappile
