Whenever I need to stir large volumes of product weather it be spackle if doing drywall or gallons of paint and even quarts of finish. They sell paint stirrers that you place in a drill and have at it. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Warner-5-gal-Heavy-Duty-Power-Driven-Paint-Mixer-30388/205052759?cm_mmc=Shopping|B|Base|D24|Multi|NA|PLA|All_Paint|71700000034373191

Well here is a couple pictures I just did real quick.. About nearly 100 F up in my loft where i do my pictures .. LOL.. I took more pictures of other project clocks that I'll be posting in a few in the Bragging section..

Anyway.. the Eagle clock backer is made from Walnut plywood.. the Bear clock backer is just BB ply with the walnut stain I mentioned using in my earlier post.. I kinda like the look of either one.. I only did one coat of stain and maybe will try two next time.. even though I think just the one coat looks pretty good myself..not sure how much darker the two coats would be.. I showed an actual Walnut backer side by side with a stained one on the same cutting to my family and they said they'd have never really known if I hadn't told them.. Being I work with wood I surely can tell but I wouldn't say its horrible.. Especially when you figure a sheet of the Walnut ply is just shy of $80 a 4 x 8 sheet.. and the BB ply is $12..

It would have a better comparison to have done two of the same cut. Hard to tell other than the color. I can certainly see the grain on the plywood in the lower one but not in the upper. The color appears the same.

Just an observation over the years, people prefer clocks with hour marks at least 4. Easy to incorporate in those patterns that do not have them. Just a thought. As far as color either looks good and black would too. But 2 different wood grains fighting each other to me is a distraction.

Touch up a few apartments. Moving into a house, I expect I'm going to be painting. Some places have every room in a different bright color. Haven't used one and hopefully won't spin the paint out of the can. Thanks RJF

We have some nice scroll work still in boxes that can finally go on the walls. Apartment we are in does not allow anything on the wall. Not a picture hanger, not a poster, nothing framed. If maintenance sees anything we are fined. A bit more controlling then we would like.

I have several different styles as I mentioned and just used a gallon type one for some outdoor white trim after I had to replace a window sill from rot. The paint had to be 7 years old at least. No problem mixed up added some flowtrol and good to go. Probably a half gallon. I needed to get that done because I have replacement windows coming in about a week or two. Own a house and your nightmares begin.

They look great. You might want to try some Minwax Jacobeen.

I paint some of my backers. No problem with glue. If you are using clock inserts you could either buy a cheap drill press or just cut them out. The clock trim will cover any miner discrepancies. A lot of clocks have that box in the back and it’s not a problem. Always try to use Baltic Birch ply. It’s just that much better.
