Gas Powered Scroll Saw

I went to a Steam and Power Show yesterday and they had a lot of old steam powered machinery and old gas powered  engines.  I saw this gas powered scroll saw and decided I had to post it.  It was running on a 1 hp gas engine.

Always loved going to the Engine shows... Those old hit and miss motors purring... The local show here always has a person running a ice cream maker off a hit and miss motor... best ice cream ever.. LOL

Like that scroll saw.  You get your fix of gas fumes, exhaust and saw dust all at the same time...!

There is a great tractor/steam power museum in Vista Ca. and they have an open house twice a year. I try to attend one if them every year. I am fascinated by the old equipment. The one that really got me was/is a motorized rope maker. They always set it up with 8-12 different colored threads and as the head rotates there is a collection of threads going down a hole in the center as braided rope. It's mesmerizing. As my wife will verify. She always has to drag me away from it.

First thing I thought of too. That exhaust.

In addition to dust collection, you would need a gas mask and good exhaust system.  Probably kind of noisy.  But I bet it cuts anything.

Just think about being able to take this saw out in the pasture on a hot day and setting up under the shade of an old oak tree. No need to worry about exhaust or dust control. Just the curious cows. Wow!
