Cool Mr Octooguy....any hints on the meaning?  Never thought of using the Heat Gun.

I am into another project now and same painters tape etc. so I  will dust off the heat gun.

Will let you know DTR....   Danny  :+}

Well, if you are wondering about my comment, we are under the total control of a repressive nanny-state government that tells us what we can have and what we can't have. We are allowed to have smelly old paint thinner but for some unknown reason we aren't allowed to have to more refined and almost odorless mineral spirits. Go figure!

I am a beginner here even though I have had a scroll saw for many years. I recently upgraded from my uncles gift to me some 40 years ago of a 16" Craftsman pinned blade to an RBI 226 VS. Man I love it. Anyhow, I have been using 2 inch painter's tape before pattern lay down and I hated the time it took me to remove the pattern with the 2 inch tape after fret work. I got to thinking do they make a wider tape and sure enough they do. I am now using 4 inch tape on my bigger projects and I love it.

For fretwork, I glue the pattern directly to the wood. When I am done cutting, I remove the pattern by wetting it with solvent. After it sits for a short time, the pattern comes off in one piece. I use mineral spirits for the solvent and 3M77 for my adhesive. You may need a different solvent for your adhesive.
