Smudger
Does anyone know of a program that can turn a 3d object and put it into slices so it can be put together after cutting it out, like the one in the picture OCtoolguy
Harry Barton
I presume it could be done with a CAD program with 3d capability, by drawing the object and then taking sections at intervals from back to front (or side to side) and exporting them as 2d drawings. I haven't used CAD for years, mind, so I have no idea which program would be best for this. Smudger and OCtoolguy
Sam777
If you have the 3d file, I can take a shot at it by slicing as much as would be practical but we still need to design ways to put it together. Let me know OCtoolguy and Smudger

teachnlearn
CT scan machine for medical does creates layered images. CAD software can be very basic to very high end and very expensive. Drawing exact dimensions of every part of a car, from the engine to the interior dash and seats, which are then sent as files to be manufactured. I know of many CAD programs in the industry which I worked on, but they were all paid for by the company. Haven't had access to a single one cause of their cost. Here is a few out there. Each with options and the more options, the more money. teachnlearn
One idea that occurred too me. Make a model out of clay. Then use wire or floss and cut into sections. There are clay's that can be modeled then baked. Simple toaster oven can be used as a shop/craft oven. ShayneP
I know this is super late and an old post but, https://www.instructables.com/How-to-Slice-Up-a-T-Rex-in-123D-Make/ and slic3r for fusion 360. You do not need fusion 360 to use it. They are designed for this exact purpose. OCtoolguy
