Brokentone
I installed new bearings in my Dewalt saw motor that had been submerged, greased all the saw bearings and it ran like new for about 3 hours. Then it started to hesitate and stop/start. Decided it is finished and started to search for new saw. I ordered a Delta from Home depot on sale for $299, I had been planning to buy a Pegas but at my age (80) I could not justify the $500 difference. I also had been looking for used Hawk or Hegner but nothing available anywhere near here. Bob OCtoolguy
New Guy
You should be happy with the Delta it is very close to a DeWalt. OCtoolguy
kmmcrafts
Sounds like a heck of a deal.. I kinda miss my old DeWalt.. sold it to my son's friend and he used the crap out of it for about a week or two.. Now he's too busy chasing girls and messing with cars, LOL.. Might see if i could buy it back...LOL jerrye and OCtoolguy

They are pretty rough in handling. Although the price is right, the first seller (ToledoSells) does not accept returns. I'm on Home DePots watch list for the saw and hopefully it will be available. I see that my local Lowe's offers the same saw but over $400. Lowe;s used to honor Home Depots price but probably not in this case as it is presently unavailable from Home Depot. bb OCtoolguy and kmmcrafts 1

Now available and still at $299! Should be able to pick up in a day or so! Will pick up saw at Home Depot and then take the old Delta to a service center 10 miles away. Miracles do happen Like a previous poster I had my eye on a Pegasus but just can't justify the extra $500. bb OCtoolguy and kmmcrafts

Just received word that Home Depot is shipping my saw from OH to a GA Home Depot nearby via UPS. I hope it survives the journey and is in working order when I pick it up. bb OCtoolguy
Brokentone
My Delta arrived today via UPS . I got home about 2 hrs ago and put it together for a test all seems good blade alignment spot on does not seem too aggressive had to extend rear of stand a couple of inches. Definitely need to run my sander on the table as it is too rough for me, it does not have the rock in the table as others have reported. not impressed with the arm holdup, will still use my 1x2 block. All in all I am happy with it. Hope others have as good experience with delivery. Bob OCtoolguy
ScollSaw Slasher
Yes, the table smoothness leaves a little to be desired and the lift hold is useless (I use a short 2x4). But it has performed well for some years now with one tune up of the bearing grease. But I'm not a production cutter as some on this forum. Don't think it would last if I were. Have fun!
