Just within the last few days, somebody posted a picture of this stool from Amazon. I tried to find it but the search never seems to work for me. Anyway, if whoever is was would contact me or post on this thread, I'd appreciate it. I want to find out what saw they are using, their height etc.

That is similar to mine.. I used it with all the saws I've owned.. with good results just modify blocks of wood heights to use the foot switch.. My stool was bought as a Christmas gift years ago so I have no idea where it came from, price, or even brand.. Could take a look and see if there is a tag on it somewhere.. This one you show looks more comfy mine has very little padding and over the years with several hours of sitting in it.. probably broke down much of the padding too..

Based on the local stores in my area and being I had this for several years tells me that it wasn't purchased online.. My wife isn't too computer savvy ( at least back then ).. Anyway I searched online all over the place at the local stores etc. to see if I could find a stool like mine..  I think this one from Harbor Freight is about the same thing as I have but the material of the covering looks more like a plastic on the HF one than what mine has..

She said " is it really 10 years" She bought it off of Amazon search saddle stools or something similar. that's the best we can do I'm afraid.

Thanks. I have done that but I haven't found one with a soft seat. I'm searching for just a saddle seat that I can install on my Northern Tools stool. If I can find one, I'll get a pad for it.

I bought a drafting stool like that from Office Depot recently, it is very high. It took some adjusting the saw and the stool to find a comfortable position. My husband is VERY patient. I have to use a box to put my foot switch. He even helped me position it, with me in it, and locked the casters. Now I can swing around, hop out, and hop back in and swing back and saw. Very high.

Father’s Day gift.......game changer!

By dgman,  June 20, 2018 in General

I think this might be the post.

Thanks Roberta but the post I'm looking for was very recent. Unless it was a recent addition to an old thread. Whoever it was, posted a picture with a link of the chair. I'm really just trying to find out how tall they are and what saw they are sitting at. Also, do they "straddle" the legs of the saw. The EX I have is much more comfortable to sit at that this Hawk. The Hawk is so tall that I must use the tall shop stool that I have and I must straddle the two legs and that forces me to sit forward on the chair. The rounded front edge of the chair cuts the circulation off in my legs and it's darn uncomfortable. There is a solution to this dilemma. If it means altering the saw, I'll do it. I'm thinking along the lines of taking the two legs off and coming up with a center leg to straddle. The ideas are wafting from my head. Thanks again.

Jim, that's more than I paid for the saw. Thanks but I'll find another way. I really think the answer is to alter the saw and then figure out a seat.

Hawk makes benchtop legs.. They are just short legs to use on a benchtop.. but I have no idea how the cost is.. and if you're going to do that you could just make short wood legs or build your own stand and make it work..

Kevin, we have had this discussion before. I think most of their stuff is way overpriced. I would think about buying the leg set made for chair sitting but not at $250 a set.  I'm going to give some serious thought to making a center leg that could be straddled. I don't think it would be that difficult to do and no cannibalizing of the saw is necessary.

I could be wrong here but I think the $250 leg set is for a "wide front " for a wheel chair to fit in.. the set I'm speaking of makes the saw stand only about 8-10 inch high for setting it up on top of a work bench.. By getting the "short leg" set you could probably make your own stand on an angle and bolt the saw to the homemade stand like you did with your DW.. That said though.. you could just make up your own stand and leg set from wood without purchasing the legs from Bushton..

I'm going to just fabricate a single center leg from 2 x material. A single 2 x under the table morticed or lap jointed into 2 2 x 4's for a leg.

I use that chair - I like it so much, that I showed it to the wife, and she bought one for her work station.

They're really comfortable and perfect height for us

What I really like about it is the height of the foot rests.

How tall are you? What saw do you have? How high is your saw from the floor? I'm trying to compare your situation to mine. Thanks for any info.
