Foxfold
Today I went back on my saw, having been nowhere near it since July 12th, my 'foot injury' day. I'd found a pattern I'd really like to cut. It was a day of 'mishaps' on my saw. Firstly, I realised that the pattern wouldn't suit my normal go to blade, #3 so I tried with a smaller blade #2. This proved a tad problematic as I found that it tended to drift a little and it took me ages to feel reasonably comfortable with it. I persevered and got almost to the end of this pattern although it took me most of the day, only to totally mess up, beyond redemption !!!!! I must say that although I was so, so cross with myself for making such a stupid mistake, it really was the prettiest piece of firewood that I've done to date. bobscroll, lawson56, Roberta Moreton and 2 others 1 1 1
fredfret
Had a visit from the fire department for burning my designer firewood one evening. No ticket but a few comments about how well it was decorated. Ended with a don't do that again. teachnlearn
Take all the mistakes and miscuts and nail or glue them together. Seen enough tacked together shapes they call art. Just make sure to sign it, charge a really high price and call it a one of a kind original work. fredfret
I had 2 trash cans of "firewood" dumped together and lit. It smoked as there was tape and glue on most. I live in city now. I grew up in a Very Rural area where fires were normal. Don't have a fire that big or that smokey again. OCtoolguy
wombatie
Well you know where you went wrong so go out there and do the same pattern just don't make the same mistake. Marg Foxfold
loftyhermes
I think we've all done that Brenda, me more than once. What I do now when I've had a bit of a layoff from the saw is to do some practice cuts before starting a new project, just to get the feel of the saw once again. I hope that you're going to cut it again. Foxfold
