Great looking project, Dick,

Sorry to hear you had so many problems with it.

God Bless! Spirithorse

It  was all my own fault. I need to use this as a learning thing and to think twice before I decide to shy from what I know is the right thing for me

Hi Dick:
I think your Blue Jay turned out really good......LOL
Seriously...for all the trouble you went through it looks great
That is an owl, right?
Are you framing it?
Fab4

Yes it an owl. I believe this is a Charles Hand pattern. No, I do not think it is worth framing. I will hang  it in my shop as a reminder to stay focused when I am making a project

Good Job -- What size drill do you use for the 03 spiral??

I do not know what size the drill bit was but it is very small. I found an assortment of small drills in a package at Harbor Freight and they seem to work pretty well even though they were quite inexpensive to purchase. I can barely see the holes after they are drilled. It surprised me that it was easy to insert the blade into the holes.

Funky stack cuts, fragile cuts, spray glue on the wrong side. Bob Ross's "Happy Accidents" don't apply here. Been there and hated it. It actually doesn't look too bad.

It  did come out better then I had expected that it would. I put spray glue on another project a while back too. You would think I would have learned from that one, but no. I still am my own worst enemy.

That turned out very nice to my eyes.  If you didn't tell, no one would notice any mistakes... And yes, I have picked up a can of adhesive and sprayed a picture before.......

I went and checked Mike William's site and that was one of his patterns.

@New Guy, I have threaded a 3/0 spiral through a hole drilled with a #70 bit.   Normally I use a #68 or if enough room a #65.

My motto is "If in doubt, don't", maybe it should be your motto too Dick.  Looks good though.  Now go back and do it again.

Marg

Marg,  Are you kidding me? No, right not I am not interested in doing it again anytime soon. I do like your attitude on it though. Too many other pattern I need to get to first. However I hope to remember from this one that I need to adopt your motto suggestion.

Sorry to hear that Dick. Still doesn't look that bad.Don't feel bad Dick. I also did that once with the glue can instead of the poly can. It happens.

I will stock it up to getting old....  really is I'm not too bright sometimes....but getting old sounds better and my image would not be so tarnished if I stick to that. Appreciate your comment
