cashew Posted August 31, 2019 Report Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) This one was done for my son in law on 4/4 poplar with an unknown backing board. I used a 5/8 oak dowel for the barrel with 1/4 cedar for the sights. It's a modified (slightly) wood teddy bear pattern touched up with my Dremel. 36" from butt to end of barrel. If you guys can tell what that backer is it would help in the future - I like it. I used a #4 spiral and a #5 modified geometry on a 16" ryobi video-1565999175.mp4 Edited August 31, 2019 by cashew Wilson142, MTCowpoke22, frankorona and 5 others 8 Quote

Foxfold Posted August 31, 2019 Report Posted August 31, 2019 Great job. I've only just started with spirals so I know how 'different' it is and not easy to get used to if you've only used flat blades. cashew 1 Quote
RabidAlien Posted August 31, 2019 Report Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) Awesome cutting! I'm coming to realize that spirals tend to want to go their own way, but that they most certainly have their moments when cutting trees and other jaggedy shapes. A purpose for every tool! I'd prefer to have the real thing mounted above a doorway or mantlepiece, but they become harder to use after you've scrolled em out. Edited August 31, 2019 by RabidAlien cashew 1 Quote
