Remember the C A Burn ?

Well it's exactly 9 wks since my run in with CA glue and I've just taken off my final dressing.  Hurray !!!  🎉   The 'redness' will no doubt fade in time, but I'm no longer in any pain and I can get my shoes on again (I just can't pull my laces too tight on my trainers) 😉

Glad that healed up well Brenda. I am seriously questioning whether I need superglue ??

take care

To be honest Don, our 'normal' superglue is a lot more viscous so I wouldn't have sustained the same damage. C.A. glue is like water and it just poured out of the bottle so quickly. Also, perhaps if I wasn't wearing 'cotton' socks it wouldn't have been so bad. But, lesson learned, I'll still be using it as it is really good at fixing the tiny 'inside bits that I crack or break but I will definitely be a LOT more respectful of it and super careful. xx

This happened while I was away for 2 and 1/2 months with no internet. I was totally unaware of your injury until now. I would have never thought that C.A. glue was in any way dangerous. I do use a little super glue but had no idea there could even be a problem like this from any kind of glue. Did you just spill it on your foot? How long until it was causing you a concern? Were you aware of a burning sensation immediately or was it left for awhile before you noticed? One thought that crossed my mind as I was writing you these questions is...… Did the glue make your sock stick to your foot and tore the skin as you attempted to remove your sock.  So sorry for the long and obvious pain it has left you. Glad you are starting to get some relief, finally.

I did, I just accidentally knocked it over. It splashed onto my left thigh and welded my jeans to my leg immediately, the rest poured onto my right foot and welded my crocks to my sock and my sock to my foot instantly. It hurt like hell immediately, and my sock started smouldering and the smoke frightened the wits out of me.   In my pain and fright I did pull the whole thing off. Not perhaps the best road to take but the pain was getting worse by the second and I was afraid that the sock would burst into flames. 🙈

Wow  that is very scary. So sorry to hear that you went through so much so quickly. Your bad experience helps others, like me. to be especially careful when using this kind of glue. It seems so harmless in the bottle.

Thank you for the reply. so glad you are healing, finally
