jerry1939
We were there years ago on a bus tour. Every American, Veteran or civilian should be required to go there & see the magnitude of the Arlington Cemetery. We were told that there are more Civil War Veterans there than from all our other wars combined, because both sides were buried there. I cut that piece for a fellow Veteran years ago. Instead of the emblem below the eagle's head, I put his 1st name. I thought it was a Steve Good pattern at the time, but cannot find it now. jerry OCtoolguy, OzarkSawdust and RabidAlien 2
spirithorse
Thanks for sharing. For anyone interested, the pattern is from the late/great Dirk Boelman. The pattern was shared on scrollsawer.com but, I do not know how to find back issues or free patterns that they offered. God Bless! RabidAlien
Putting my Google-fu to work...and I find a BUNCH of different forums/sites that mention it, one with a link to a PDF that is no longer working, and a couple of pattern books on Amazon, but nothing that has the pattern itself. I shot an email over to the folks at The Art Factory, we'll see what they have to say about the pattern. OCtoolguy
OzarkSawdust
Very nice! I am a veteran and would like to make something like that for a couple of friends that also served. Very classy and thoughtful. OCtoolguy
JustLarry
Believe the pattern was in SSWC magazine prior to July 2014. Check Post #2 at this link. https://forum.scrollsawer.com/forum/patterns/scroll-saw-design-tutorials/53492-veteran-ornaments-by-dirk-boelman Larry OCtoolguy

Our second son was in the Old Guard at Fort Myer, Va. He was on the burial unit that was responsible for all the military burials at Arlington Cemetery. A very tough job both in duties and also the rigid rules and regs they go through. They had to press their uniforms 3 times a day. Now, he runs a baseball park.
