Popular Post Denny Knappen
This is #3 of a series of 12. The patterns are by the late Dirk Boelman, and I purchased the set from Scroller Online, but they no longer list these. I used 1/4" Walnut scraps. It is approximately 5" high. I make these wile I wait for the glue to dry on other projects. I used FD UR #1 blades and finished with one coat sanding sealer and two coats spray Polyurethane Clear Gloss. Comments welcome. OzarkSawdust
First...That's really nice, and I like the way it looks in walnut! Second...another newbie question...what is "sanding sealer" is that what it's called...or does it have another name? Spray, liquid? I've just never used or heard of it before. I use Shellac 50% with denatured alcohol. This makes a thin solution that I dip projects into. It is quick drying and when dried, a light sanding with a Mac Mop. spirithorse
There are about 8 of Dirk Boelman's slotted ornaments in the old Holiday Issue of 2011 of Creative Woodworks & Crafts magazine for those that may be able to locate that issue. God Bless! Spirithorse

Checking with Karen, Dirk's wife, to see if she can locate the patterns. wombatie

Denny Knappen
Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I would add three new ones to this post. Not a lot of time on the scroll saw yesterday, but I did complete three. The first one is made from Mahogany and the next two from Cherry. I used FD UR #1 blades and finished with spray Polyurethane clear satin. Comments welcome.
