Got it cut from 1/4" BB ply and finish put on. When it's dry in the morning I'll glue it up. I got a bench drill press and a couple of Forstner bits so I'll do some tea light holders also. I always use hardwoods. I used 1/4” maple for the overlay and Mahogany for the backer. To bring out the color and grain, I use a 50/50 mixture of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. Then when dry, I topcoat with Deft semi gloss spray lacquer. I have them priced at $24 each. My first show of the year is this Sunday, so I will see how they will sell. I'm assuming the Mahogany is also 1/4" I am getting ready to order some hardwood as I'm wanting to make a couple of clocks. Does anyone ever use Oak? I never see it mentioned here. I never see it mentioned here. Yes, the backer is 1/4”. And yes, I do use oak, red, white and other species I can find out here in the West.
