OzarkSawdust
Got my scroll saw stand in today. Even got it put together! It has 3 height settings, I used the lowest. Found a 3/4" x 2' x 2' piece of Luan plywood on my wood cart, so I trimmed the edges slightly and used it as a top. The bench to the right in the picture is my Crappie jig/fly tying bench, that's what I had my scroll saws on so far. This is about 5" lower. I'll still use a stool, but it allows my forearms to be almost level, like sitting at my desk working on the computer. I think it will be more comfortable cutting, relaxing my shoulders. If not I can raise it 2 more positions. John B, namunolie, OCtoolguy and 4 others 6
scrollingforsanity
Looks very nice. I believe you will enjoy your setup. Wish I was back there crappie fishing with you. I am Originally from Clinton, Mo. I was back there in late May but there was a ton of water. Of course everything has changed for me since I left just as they were thinking about putting in Truman dam at Warsaw. All my old stomping grounds are under water. Enjoy your new saw and let us see some pictures of your projects please. grizz OzarkSawdust and OCtoolguy
Jim McDonald
Nothing like a proper stand to take the tension off your shoulders. (And nothing a fresh crappie sandwich) OCtoolguy and OzarkSawdust

Truman is great Crappie fishing. In fact Crappie Masters has held 4 or 5 tournaments there the last two years...including the National Championship. I live closer to Stockton Lake and it's good fishing too. Crappie and Bass both. OCtoolguy and scrollingforsanity
scrollingforsanity
I got to see first hand the ramps closed and the water over the roads. Had to back my fifth wheel up about a half mile due to taking a wrong turn to a campground. I moved away 43 years ago but still miss the fishing. I do not miss the humidity though. . You should have some great fishing there on the Columbia River! We were out there a couple of yrs ago. Spent about 3 1/2 months in the 5th wheel. One of my son-in-laws is a Naval officer and was stationed at Whidbey Island WA north of Seattle. After their place we went to spend some time with some close friends of ours in Medford OR. Then on to a week at a RV park in the Redwood Forest. Followed by a week over 4th of July at Napa, we use to manage a retirement property there so we knew the best wineries! It's all beautiful out there! OCtoolguy
Scrappile
My folks use to own a home on Whidbey Island. Beautiful place to live. OCtoolguy and OzarkSawdust
scrollingforsanity
It is beautiful here. Whidbey island is also. Unfortunately the fishing here in the Columbia has really declined. The Salmon and Steelhead runs are so low they have closed the fishing the last two years. I think it will be some time before or if it recovers. My boat just sits in the garage. They had a phenomenal Walleye fishery but they took the retention and size limit off for them a couple years ago and they are far and few between now. Are you taking your saw traveling with you in your 5th wheel? grizz OzarkSawdust and OCtoolguy

Are you taking your saw traveling with you in your 5th wheel? grizz That's the plan. That is one of the reasons I got the King 16" instead of a 21". It and the little benchtop drill press will ride in the front cargo hold. I normally carry a Barker 42gal. blue tote there, but we will be in full hookups the whole 4+ months so it won't be needed. I'll pack foot pedal, sanders, misc. tools and supplies in a tote or two that will ride in the main cargo hold. Also my stand breaks down to legs and a couple of braces to go in one of the cargo holds. I'll take some BB ply. and put in an order as soon as I get there, and pick up hardwood (or order) locally. I plan to do a lot of cutting and selling (hopefully) as we'll be in the Rio Grande Valley for almost 4 months. While it's cold and snowy I'll be sitting outside in the sun, in shorts and a T shirt, cutting patterns I'll take my laptop and files, but may look for a smaller printer to print and copy patterns. Yes folks...it's the Ozark Sawdust Road Show! Scroller on the road..... Dave Monk and OCtoolguy
scrollingforsanity
That sounds like its going to be a great trip. I hope you do well selling your crafts. I hope you post pictures and results. We only go for three or four weeks at a time so far so I don't anticipate taking my saw with me any time soon. Maybe someday. Good luck, have a safe trip. Take care grizz OCtoolguy
Scrappile
Heck, I couldn't take a scroll saw if I wanted to.... no room after my wife packs her quilting stuff, including sewing table and sewing machine..... we only have a 25' trailer... Here is one of the Louisiana Bayou, one of my favorite places to fish. And here is one of the thousands of alligator in the bayou...he also likes crappie! Now you're ready to come to the US and go fishing! OCtoolguy
Foxfold
We call them 'lures' over here, your 'bayou' looks absolutely beautiful, the alligator looks a little scary. Have a wonderful time while you are away. So glad you took my 'dilemma' in good part and were not offended by my comments.
