oldhudson Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 (edited) My 37 year old daughter is getting married in January. (Let me tell you I'm over the moon. She's been living with this guy for more than 10 years and I wondered if they'd ever tie the knot.) She asked me to make one of these 'guest books'. I was wondering if anyone has made one or more and if they'd have some tips to offer before I begin. Thanks for reading. Edited October 20, 2019 by oldhudson OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Rockytime Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 Looks cool. How does it work or what does it do? OCtoolguy 1 Quote

It's a different take on the old guest book idea. It's kind of a shadow box. There's a gap between the glass front and the back of the case. Guests take a heart and sign their name and drop it into the space between the glass and backer. After the event I'll add the last piece of the frame and glue it into position. The case is hung or put out somewhere as a reminder of the day. I was thinking I'd make the hearts a couple of different sizes. A red backer instead of wood. Maybe add some butterflys or maybe balloons. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
wombatie Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 I did one a couple of years ago, (I was looking for a photo but I can't find it) I did a heart shaped one. Stack cut the hearts otherwise you will be there forever. I think mine had the date at the bottom. Easy to make and lovely to look at and remember. Marg OCtoolguy 1 Quote
Rockytime Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 Never heard of that before but a really cool idea! OCtoolguy 1 Quote
JimErn Posted October 20, 2019 Report Posted October 20, 2019 I have to agree, a really nifty idea. I wonder how big it is though, those hearts look pretty small to be writing on, though I see those folks managed. Seems like cutting a dado in the sides for the glass or plexiglass to sit in would work. OCtoolguy 1 Quote
