Popular Post OzarkSawdust
This is the first project that I decided what I wanted on it...designed the pattern from scratch and printed it out, cut and finished it. I used 1/2" Oak and finished with a couple of coats of Helmsman Spar Urethane. Now I need HELP!!! My wife put pictures on Facebook and by time we finished dinner 2 or 3 friends wanted her to get a price for me making signs! OMG...what do I do now?? I need help pricing these fast...please! From what they sent her already the signs will be similar to this one...a name or two, maybe a word and a name, etc. Randi, who lives in OR, wanted to see if I could also put a pine tree on hers. She said her mother, who is in her 90s, may want several to give as Christmas gifts! Or should I find out what each one wants first, then do a rough workup to make sure it will fly, then show them a workup and the price? I don't know as I didn't think it would come this quick! Thanks everyone!! RabidAlien, flarud, munzieb and 16 others

Ron Johnson
Really well done Gary. I would charge according to what you think your work is worth in regards to quality and finish. All the best. OzarkSawdust

Fab4
Hi Gary: Well done, what fonts did you use? Keep in mind that you will never get rich doing this If you can buy your materials and a bit more from what you sell than you are ahead of the game Wood, blades, finish (paint or stain or varnish) and time Word of mouth will be your best advertising Good Luck and I wish you all the best in the new venture Fab4 Wilson142 and amazingkevin

I like the Scroll Beach as it already has the bridges...less work for me till I get the hang of Inkscape... Still, on this first time I think I spent as much time designing it as I did cutting it I hope it goes faster next time! I think for a while, I'll go on Inkscape once every few days and just design a sign like this even if I have no desire to cut it. Then I can print the pattern, look for islands or anything I messed up. That way I won't forget just how the heck I did it when I need to make one. I'm retired and just want it to cover all the materials and supplies...maybe a little beer money also Fab4

don watson
Very well done. If you can cover costs and get some beer money I reckon you're doing OK. Don W OzarkSawdust
Dave Monk
If I were making a sign like that I would charge $25-$35 depending on the size, amount of letters, type of material, stained or natural. I always show my customer artwork before I start a project. That can take a lot of time. I like to make enough to pay for my material, buy some new tools, and maybe a bit of mad money. Good luck.......pricing is hard. OzarkSawdust
