Cancer Awareness Ornaments

What a great tribute and beautiful work you have crafted and should be good sellers and raising funds. Having different cancers in my extended family, I know the horrible sides of that disease. While watching any family member fighting it is difficult, I can only imagine how much more so it is when it is a child. Prayers said for her family.

What a wonderful thing for you to do. A fun raiser that will help others going through the same problem and for others that just care about the families and kids that are fighting this horrible decease. Way to go. You have  become one of my heroes with this kind act.

Thank you for the kind words. I can't imagine the Hell these parents and others are going through. So thankful for my healthy children and grands!

We have not had cancer in our family as of yet, and certainly hope we do not, ever. I love what you are doing. Such a nice gestor.

They look fantastic in hardwood.  I like them so much I just ordered the pattern from Sue.

Each year I get invited to a luncheon for our local cancer support centre called Hearth Place.  Our club makes wigs stands for those getting treatment and have lost there hair.  I started the program in 2014 and our members have made close to 400.

I like to give all the other volunteers to the "look good feel good' program an ornament and this would be fantastic.

Question - what thickness of wood did you use and were you able to stack cut.  I will probably have to 20 to 25.

Also did you change the size?

Great job.

Thanks Don

Hi Don. Sorry for the slow answer. Haven't been on in a few days. I did reduce the size down to 3" tall. The inside of the wings is a challenge  at this size but it gets easier after cutting a few. 😁 The thickness varies from 1/4" to around 3/8". I prefer the thicker ones but some of the wood I'm using is so dense it burns too easily. I have stack cut a few but I enjoy it more just doing one at a time. Sounds like a great program you're involved in. Great to use your talents to help others.

Thank you.  I have a month to get them done so I plan on cutting a couple each day as I have a couple of big orders on the Daddy do list.

I know that list well! The angels are a bit fragile at that size and being made from solid wood. I've broken a couple by dropping them on the shop floor. I think that's in the job description of a Christmas ornament though. "Must break when dropped." ;)

Great job on those. I did some of those to and I was able to stack cut 3 at a time in B/B Ply.

HI Ralph

Did you do full size or reduce to 3 inches?

My first one .  Just touched to mop sander and ouch. True Christmas ornament.

Going to stack and cut on BB to see what happens.  My wife said I have always done gold so we will see.
