Popular Post Charlie E
I posted a portrait a few weeks back of a young girl in our community who was fighting leukemia. Sadly she passed away. Her name was Rozlyn and her parents have started a charity called The Rozzy Foundation. It raises money for families going through the horrors of childhood cancer. I am cutting these ornaments for them to sell. It is a Sue Mey pattern. I removed the halo on one and added a bow on another, as Rozlyn always wore a big bow after losing her hair. It's nice to think as I make one that maybe it will be turned into a meal or a cup of Starbucks for a family member who needs a break. Love your family!!! heppnerguy
What a wonderful thing for you to do. A fun raiser that will help others going through the same problem and for others that just care about the families and kids that are fighting this horrible decease. Way to go. You have become one of my heroes with this kind act. Dick heppnerguy Charlie E
meflick
What a great tribute and beautiful work you have crafted and should be good sellers and raising funds. Having different cancers in my extended family, I know the horrible sides of that disease. While watching any family member fighting it is difficult, I can only imagine how much more so it is when it is a child. Prayers said for her family. OzarkSawdust
Wonderful cutting of such a fantastic cause. Too bad there is such a need for that type of thing. I, like most others now days, have had friends and family that fought one type of cancer or another. Charlie E

Ron Johnson
So sad. Especially a child. You deserve a lot of credit for what you're doing. You will be awarded. Charlie E and danny 1
wombatie
So sorry to hear of Rozzy's passing. I love the idea of the bows replacing the halo's, I am sure she would get a giggle out of it. Excellent cause, you are a generous man. don in brooklin on
They look fantastic in hardwood. I like them so much I just ordered the pattern from Sue. Each year I get invited to a luncheon for our local cancer support centre called Hearth Place. Our club makes wigs stands for those getting treatment and have lost there hair. I started the program in 2014 and our members have made close to 400. I like to give all the other volunteers to the "look good feel good' program an ornament and this would be fantastic. Question - what thickness of wood did you use and were you able to stack cut. I will probably have to 20 to 25. Also did you change the size? Great job. Thanks Don Edited November 8, 2019 by don in brooklin on Charlie E

The inside of the wings is a challenge at this size but it gets easier after cutting a few. The thickness varies from 1/4" to around 3/8". I prefer the thicker ones but some of the wood I'm using is so dense it burns too easily. I have stack cut a few but I enjoy it more just doing one at a time. Sounds like a great program you're involved in. Great to use your talents to help others.
don in brooklin on
Thank you. I have a month to get them done so I plan on cutting a couple each day as I have a couple of big orders on the Daddy do list. Charlie E

The angels are a bit fragile at that size and being made from solid wood. I've broken a couple by dropping them on the shop floor. I think that's in the job description of a Christmas ornament though. "Must break when dropped."
rdatelle
Great job on those. I did some of those to and I was able to stack cut 3 at a time in B/B Ply. Charlie E

True Christmas ornament. Going to stack and cut on BB to see what happens. My wife said I have always done gold so we will see. Jim McDonald
A great offer for a truly worthy cause. I guarantee you had angels looking over your shoulder as you cut those. And earthly angels will be buying them. Charlie E
