Popular Post Ron Johnson
Repurposed Oak from center leg of a wood table I managed to make two boxes. Both hogged out and lined with Alma wood and accented with Holly, Mahogany, Walnut and Ebony. Size is 6 ½ x 4 ½ and 4” high. Finished with Minwax Wipe on Poly satin and buffed with a cabinetmakers wax. munzieb, JimErn, John B and 17 others

Can you give us a bit more info about how you went about 'hogging' out the inside. Hi Berry. With a chisel and mallet I cut a ½" diameter around for the opening. From there I hogged out the depth I wanted using a mortice chisel. there are other ways of hogging out material such as using a drill bit, forstner bit and etc but I love my chisels. Thank you.
