Popular Post Denny Knappen
I cut these last Friday during a slow time at ArtCrafters using the Pegas Scroll Saw and Pegas MGT #9 blades. The patterns are by Dave and Judy Peterson and found in there new book "Scroll Saw Baby Animals". I used 3/4" Aspen for the Lamb and 3/4" Walnut for the Playful Puppy. The finish is dipping in Boiled Linseed Oil. Comments welcome. Dave Monk, jollyred, barb.j.enders and 8 others

Sycamore67
Those are nice. I just got that book recently and have cut a couple puzzles. Judy and Dave have put out great books and I have all of them. A question....why are the edges of the calf puzzle pieces so dark? It probably is just shadow. I see you cut with a #9 blade and that create a larger kerf. I typically cut their puzzles with a FD Polar #5. It creates a bit tighter puzzle. I also give the pieces a quick sanding with a Mac Mop. Thanks Larry. The Lamb is cut from Aspen and dipped in BLO. The BLO turned the edges dark and also yellowed the Aspen. Not happy with the BLO. I also cut my puzzles with FD Polar #5. Now that we are distributors for Pegas, I wanted to give the Pegas MGT a try. It is strange, but the size of the Polar #5 is almost the same as the MGT #9. Can't go by blade numbers. I finish almost all my pieces with the Mac Mop. Great minds think alike.
