Ron Johnson Posted November 6, 2019 Report Posted November 6, 2019 All kids love wood toys, especially if grand pa made them. Then they become treasured items. Nicely done. Your guaranteed to receive a few smiles at Xmas time. Quote
rjR Posted November 6, 2019 Report Posted November 6, 2019 Nicely done. An idea to present-- use a food grade cutting board oil like walnut oil to put the finish on them.. Makes the grain really stand out, increases durability, and safe if they chew on them too. You could also use a woodburner and add initials, or names to. Quote
OzarkSawdust Posted November 6, 2019 Report Posted November 6, 2019 (edited) One of my most fond memories is with my best friend making toys for his three kids. It was freezing cold around Christmas and not much heat in his garage. Our wives were in the house keeping the kids busy while Mike and I played "Santa's Elves" and made their toys. We were in the ARMY stationed at Ft. Sill OK, 40 some years ago an enlisted man didn't make squat...so what we made was most of their Christmas gifts. I still think about that every year about this time. Mike passed away in Maine about 10 yrs ago from the effects of Agent Orange. Sorry...we now return you to your regularly scheduled scroll saw channel...... Edited November 6, 2019 by OzarkSawdust Jim McDonald, amazingkevin and Scrappile 3 Quote
