Dad was wounded in WWI.  I'm the youngest of 3 sons. At different times, we were all volunteer Army.  Oldest brother is deceased. He was wounded in Korea. Other brother & I served in peace time. I spent one year between the Artic Circle & the North Pole, at Camp Tuto Greenland (Google it).  Army administration. After that stationed at Fifth Army Headquarters in  Chicago working with classified documents.

Jerry, I have to laugh at the expression peace time.  The cold war was indeed a war, the public has no idea how close we were, nor how many times we were close to an all out war, and the other side blinked.  Thanks for writing that check payable to the United States, for the amount of, "my life if needed" and thank god it was not cashed

Thank you for the remembering the veterans.  It was a honor to have served. 1971 to 1983 Army Nurse corps. Continued as civilian and reserve at Fort Harrison in Indiana.

With that date, he would have served on a starship. Just figured there's a program for a few folks for space travel.  RJF
