Downloading Fonts

As Tom said, google the font name, then download it

Most font downloads come in a zip file type, you need to (in windows explorer) right click on the file and choose extract all, then double click on the font file after extraction.  While Win Explorer will show you the contents of the zip file, the contents can not be used until extracted.

In the browser, the download arrow can be clicked, and the most recent downloads seen, right click on one and select open containing folder to open win explorer automatically

Fonts are installed in the system, word and other programs read the font list when you open them.

the PDF is just a list on fonts I have.  Most come from the system or dafont.  If not PM me and I will send.

As Jim says when you down load a zip file make sure you save it on your system just don't open it and install.

Once on your font is on you system click and then click install for all users.  That makes it available for all programs including Inkscape.  If install for all users does not come up you have either not save to disk or you are running as admin only.

Ray let me ease your confusion. I can download fonts. Don from Brooklyn posted a pdf file showing what fonts he uses that are scrollable. I'm just saying I cannot find those fonts on dafont.com with knowing the exact name of the font. Of course there a chance I'm missing something also.

I have those fonts if you can't find them Les. They weren't listed on any of the font websites if I recall. And, if I recall, there were 3 of them.

Would you post the pdf you are talking about, that would help I think

Jim, I just did a google search and it appears that it was you who posted the 3 scroll saw fonts that you use. They are called "scroll saw regular", "scroll saw 02" and "scroll saw 03". I'm not sure if you posted the .zip file but in the search they are in a .pdf file. Somehow, I got them.

Ok, I read further in that same topic and found that the 3 fonts in question are from Steve Good and are in his font viewer or font list or something of that nature. Here is a link to the whole thread as it was written back in December of 2018.

Ok now I am confused, Rocky started this thread, Wish he would chime in and let us see the pdf he is talking about or the names of the fonts he wants.

that thread you referenced refers to how to get those three fonts, but I am wondering if it is some others

Well, maybe I misunderstood what his original request was all about. If that is the case, I apologize.
By the way, a side note, I love the browser Opera that you put me onto. It has so many aspects that are better and more inclusive. I uninstalled both Mozilla Firefox and Chrome. Never to be used again. Thanks so much.
