First show of the Season

Here is a picture of the set up.  The John Wayne Portrait is by far my best seller.  Sue Mey Crosses are popular.  I make them out of 3/4 inch Poplar, Cedar, Oak, Aspen, and Walnut (when I can find boards the right size).  The 3D Butterfly Cross flew (excuse the pun) off the shelves.  I love the cross but hate making it if that makes sense.  I also have two different types of ornaments and sell them for 2 for $5 (small) or 1 for $5 (large).  They are good as well.  This year Portraits are slow but steady.

Thanks for the nice comments.  Usually, for me, the first show of the Christmas season is always the best.  Mostly because in this area everyone goes to all the shows so after the 1st one they have seen all my stuff.  I do have a lot of return customers or people who seek out my booth because they saw what another person had bought.

How long does it take you to build up the inventory we see in that picture?

I see by the next picture you did several of John Wayne. Do you normally take multiples of everything...or just certain items?

Do you do shows all year...or just in the fall?

I would like to do show(s) next year and am trying to get as much info from people as I can.

Thanks for any info you care to share.

I work on my inventory thru out the year and I only participate in the Fall/Winter crafts fairs (about 5 of them).  I make multiples of my biggest sellers, John Wayne, Word trees, Nativity related items (crosses, ornaments etc.) and some of the Elk Portraits.  I try to have a wide variety of items.  Things you think would sell well don't and things that you think would be slow sellers fly off the table.  Last year I think I sold 1 butterfly cross and this year I sold 5 in the first show.
