Popular Post JimErn
So after seeing the state of MI that @Nickel Falls did in this thread I went to his reference at scrolleronline.com I was all set to buy the Texas pattern, but it did not trip my trigger at all, so I fired up inkscape jollyred, Scrappile, Dave Monk and 10 others
Denny Knappen
Jim, good thing you did not pull the trigger. That is a wonderful design and cutting. JimErn
spirithorse
Nice work, Jim, I did not look up the Texas pattern on scrolleronline but, your version is a winner! Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse JimErn
RabidAlien
Nice!!! Every time I see these, I always wonder if anyone's ever cut all 50 and made their own US map?
OzarkSawdust
Nice design and cut Jim! I'm working on a couple of ideas. Where do you get things like the rider, steer, etc. and how do you get them into Inkscape? I think I can work with them once I get it into the program. I do a google search, for say oil rig silhouette, the word silhouette is important or you get all kinds of drawings and pics have inkscape open, right click on the silhouette you want and select copy, in inkscape right click select paste and say yes to the prompt then use path menu, trace bitmap, set the stroke and fill to the color of you choice, resize and position OzarkSawdust

I'll try it this evening. Once you've done it a few times it becomes second nature...it's just trying to do something the first time that's hard. Frank Pellow
Well done. There is no doubt that you have an appropriate representation of Texas. Like 'Gordster' says above, I too am now thinking about how to do something similar for the Canadian provinces and territories.
