NC Scroller
I saw that A.C. Moore is closing all stores. Sad that so many will be losing jobs especially this time of year. For those with an A.C. Moore in the area it might be a good time to pick up glue, ribbons, brushes. paint, picture frames, etc https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/nicole-crafts-to-divest-out-of-retail-operations-300964565.html OCtoolguy
edward
They are closing the one near me, I always liked that store, and Michaels is taking them over. OCtoolguy
kmmcrafts
We don't have them in my area.. I'm curious what will happen to their supposed handmade selling venue they just started online this year.. By the looks of the site... it has little traffic.. This was a big deal and talked about launch of it in the handmade community but once they opened up the website... hardly anyone talked about it, LOL Edited November 27, 2019 by kmmcrafts OCtoolguy
Be_O_Be
We had Pat Catan stores close in this area and quickly opened up as Michaels. Seems like when one company tries to corner a market it never ends well.
teachnlearn
Recent article shows whole group of stores closing 2020. For an economy that is 'improving', I'm seeing a lot of brick and mortor stores closing in the towns i have lived in and check towns we would like to move too. Even moving to a new area, we are seeing stores with closing signs. LarryEA
Amazon and the internet, online purchases, home delivery picks up the loss of the B&M B&M's are not meeting consumer needs. What hurts B&M's driving in traffic; snow; finding a parking space; I don't like crowd shopping, especially Black Friday. But then seeing some of the clowns at Walmart is fun. rjweb
Yes online shopping seems to be the way it’s going, just think you can sit in your underware and purchase your gifts, RJ
teachnlearn
My wife and I talked about that when stores were closing. Didn't Sears start with a catalog with kit built houses and selling everything else to be shipped to the customer? Kind of going complete circle? How do buy pants, underwear, shoes over the internet? Try a pair and ship them back for a different one and on it goes til they fit? RJF
