jollyred Posted December 11, 2019 Report Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) A couple of the ones I have finished. The letter/napkin holder is an H. Botas pattern I simplified slightly and is made from BB. The sign is for my BIL in Texas. It is made from cedar with a pine backing. Finish on both is spray can poly. JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted December 11, 2019 Report Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) It is great to see such talent here and the variety of projects being shown is fantastic. Keep them coming. Love it when people think outside the box and maybe use a pattern and add their own touch. Shows a creative mind. Edited December 11, 2019 by JTTHECLOCKMAN RabidAlien 1 Quote
Dovetaled Posted December 12, 2019 Report Posted December 12, 2019 Jollyred, love the Sim's sign. Cedar on the top and pine or poplar on the bottom? Cool combination of wood colors. Really pop's. Quote
Popular Post Dennisfm56 Posted December 13, 2019 Popular Post Report Posted December 13, 2019 (edited) I've made a few different gifts items, but this one is the cool one. A little backstory, maybe a year ago Iggy sent me a pic that he did of one these, and I said to myself " No way in hell am I EVER doing one of those". Fast forward to a month or so ago at a craft fair where I had some of Harvey's puzzles a very polite and respectful young girl asked if I had a Havanese. I told her no and I could tell she was just a little disappointed. A week or so later I received an email from her parents saying that on her list to Santa was "A Havanese puzzle like that man makes." I thought of sending them Iggy's way, but knowing what a Grinch he is, I chose to officially become one of Santa's elves. Scott, aka Iggy actually seems to be one of the good guys, but nobody tell him I said so. @Iguanadon Edited December 13, 2019 by Dennisfm56 tagging Iggy. Woodworking Saari Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 On 12/4/2019 at 11:39 AM, Travis said: This scroll saw challenge should be an easy one. Share a pic of your scroll sawn gifts this Holiday season! There's nothing more special than a handmade gift. It could be a gift for family, friends, coworkers, or stuff you sell at Holiday craft shows! While we love to see your projects, it's the stories behind the project that makes it special. So tell us a little bit about it. From your saw, to under the tree, I can't wait to see what you made this Holiday season. meflick, MattSam22, JTTHECLOCKMAN and 5 others 8 Quote
Woodworking Saari Posted December 23, 2019 Report Posted December 23, 2019 The Ducks and Shotgun was done for a special present for a friends brother. The Elk is for a family friend for Christmas. All 3 were a great challenge. RabidAlien 1 Quote
jollyred Posted December 24, 2019 Report Posted December 24, 2019 Got these done in time. The sign is for my cousin, and is walnut letters on a pine backer. The finish is sprayed on polyurethane. The plaque is for my son, and is for the department he worked in on the USS John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier. It is cut from 3mm and 6mm baltic birch, painted with spray paint and craft lacquer. It has a top coat of spray shellac. This was copied from the department's patch. Travis, JTTHECLOCKMAN, Scrappile and 2 others 5 Quote

FrankEV Posted August 12, 2020 Report Posted August 12, 2020 My Daughter and Gradson both have Birthdays coming up in September and October. She owns a French Bulldog and he owns a Pug. Both were appropriate subjects for a scrollsaw birthday present gift. My Son-in-law also has his birthday in October and is a Beer lover, so I just started a project for him. My Son and Daughter-in-law also have Birthdays in October. He is an avid Motorcycle Rider and she is nuts about Dragonflys. So here are my gifts that I will be sending them in the coming months: Jronn65, meflick and RabidAlien 3 Quote
