Popular Post meflick
Back a couple years or so ago, @Rolf and @NC Scroller Scott had shared about getting some copies of the German scroll saw magazine, Feinscnitt, and doing some patterns from them. I liked several of the designs from a couple of editions and ordered two different ones with Christmas designs in them. Knowing no German, I was going to have to go on pictures alone. I have looked at them from time to time, bit hadn't tried to make any of them until now. There are still several I want to try but I did get around to cutting these out of 1/4" BB ply and then using the Unicorn Spit stains on them that I bought a while back. (Yes, I am a gotta have it and then procrastinate type person.) LOL Here is what I finally got done. Several others I want to try from them too. Wish they had a "translated version" of the magazine, or that they could work with SSWC to put some of their articles in SSWC as they have some really beautiful things in their magazine - maybe I just need to learn German. I hear my husband's family's surname is maybe of German origin. (Have also heard not too though.) This is the magazine's home location: https://www.feinschnitt-kreativ.de - everything is as should be expected in German but with the help of Google translator and a bit of time, I was able to order the copies I did. There are more from the two I want to do, we will see if I get anymore done from them this year. I have been playing "clean up" on several projects I had started and have had laying around as well as cutting a few new ones like these this past week so I will try to post a few more photos of some other items this week maybe. Denny Knappen
Way to go, Melanie. What was it like working with the Unicorn Spit? meflick
meflick
Thanks for all of your kind comments. I think it was the whimsy element that appealed to me. @Denny Knappen working with the Unicorn Spit was really no different then paints in general although the lore you dilute it, the more it is more like a stain. I tried some different strengths of dilution on some scraps and decided I really preferred the darker more vibrant color which I used here. With that, I just used a bit of water to wet the brush. NC Scroller
Well done!!! The biggest problem I had when I did the nativity intarsia project was translating the various woods. Even Google did not know what some where. In the end I used what I had that was close in color. meflick

Looks like fun ,very different, thanks for showing Thanks again everyone for the kind comments. They were quick and easy to cut for sure. Something I was interested in. Thanks Kevin. Pattern didn’t include one for Nod, maybe we need to create one. Scott, that nativity Intarsia is on my list of things I want to do. I think that is the pattern Rolf had shown he had done from the magazine that peeked my interest, then when I looked there were a couple more like this one I was interested in doing.
