Martin663
Just listed my Hegner multimax 18v in our for sale ( deals) area and on Craigslist Ocala fl. Got arthritis in hands and can’t use it. Would like to find it a good home. What’s a fair price? See details on Craigslist or in our for sale area. Getting old is no fun. See ya Happy New Year All Edited January 1, 2020 by Martin663 Lack of information OCtoolguy
OCtoolguy
I wish you were closer to me. I know we could come to a price that we both liked. Your saw looks like it's pristine. BUT, it doesn't have the quick release tension lever and that is a big deal. Just for your own information's sake, I bought a 1991 Hegner w/stand & light in mint condition for $300 near where I live in So Cal. So with that said, the most I'd pay would be in the $200 range. But there are many people who don't know what to look for and only know the name and it's excellent reputation so start at $400 and see where it goes. Sorry that you must leave the hobby. My wife has RA so I think I know what you are dealing with. Not fun! Happy New Year to you.
JTTHECLOCKMAN
I am sitting here and laughing my tail off. Why you ask. I am in the process of cleaning my shop out and the clutter has taken over my game room and things got out of hand. One of the things I did yesterday was clean my exact same saw off and put is aside. I have the same blade pouch sitting on the saw with the footpedal. I too would love to sell it. We could put them side by side and they would be like they came out of the factory. I am keeping my light. I have a blue dot on top of the tension knob in the back which I used to guide me of returning tension to the same position every time I moved blade. I thought about getting the quick release setup but the price is too much and got used to turning the knob. Good luck with the sale. Let me know what you get for it if you would be kind enough. Thanks. Edited January 2, 2020 by JTTHECLOCKMAN OCtoolguy
OCtoolguy
I went to C/L in Ocala just to see your saw and see that you have the opportunity to get more than I mentioned. It seems that saws are going for more there than they are here. Far too many to choose from here at times. Right now though, there is only on Hegner in my area and the guy want's $550 for it. I tried to get him to come down but he's going to stick to his price. He's had it on there for a couple of months so I guess he's in no hurry. I offered him $200 but he said NO! Rockytime
Sad that you have to give up scrolling.I fight arthritis every day, especially in my hands. My mother's hands were badly deformed from RA. I'm hoping I can avoid that. Yep, getting old sucks but it beats the alternative! kmmcrafts
Saw prices are all over the place depending on location. I’ve been watching the Hefner’s for a couple years now and a saw like yours in my area are listed from $300 - 500 with an occasional one now and then for $250 . I’ve never seen one listed below $250 OCtoolguy and GrampaJim

I would say that it may be scrolling in the cold on top of a cold table. If you can find a way to warm everything up it may help you to keep on scrolling. I'd have to give it a good fight first. kmmcrafts

I’ve never seen one listed below $250 I just found one near me that is an old 1986 single speed that is offered at $200. I contacted the seller and explained that their saw is going on 40 years old, it lacks all the latest upgrades and is not a variable speed. With all that said, I'd pay $100 after I inspected it and did some cutting with it. They'll probably tell me to go away but I thought what the heck. kmmcrafts

JTTHECLOCKMAN
In my area I would ask $400 and probably take $350 no lower. Not for a Hegner with stand. . OCtoolguy

Puzzleguy
I guess it depends on your area - Im near to Buffalo and scrolling just isnt like it use to be - But we do have a following - but im not seeing as many scrollers as we use to have at any of the shows we do. . I use to belong to a Scrollers club in hamburg New York - but our membership was dwindling , now its gone- i think were a dying breed - which makes me understand why no-one bought the Eclipse company when Ernie Mellon passed away -which by the way is a great saw but impossible to get parts for- . and they made that saw in ( i believe in 3 ) different versions -which even makes it worse getting help. ill keep my eye open on Facebook Market place in my area - either that or just buy a new Pegas - I enjoyed the conversation ! Thanks Tony B. Edited January 2, 2020 by Puzzleguy OCtoolguy

It's a wireless thing that has quiet buttons but you almost have to hit them with a hammer to get them to work.. Was wonderful when new.. but didn't take long to mess up.. and I swear it sometimes chooses the letter next to the one I actually hit.. At least that's my excuse, LOL and my keys are sticking too it too. LOL... One day I hit the space bar and it did a whole page of spaces before I could get it unstuck.. Guess I should have asked santa for a new one.. OCtoolguy

I have had my Hegner Multi Max 22v for 12 years and haven't have any issues (knock on wood). I wouldn't mind even a smaller one, the 14", for back up if the price was right. Martin663
350 Takes saw home. If you live in central Florida let me know. Hate to store it again and would like to see it used kmmcrafts, DavidSchutt and OCtoolguy
Puzzleguy
Martin , If i was close by I would gladly do your 350 , its a well cared for machine -looks new but with the packing and shipping it would add a couple hundred or more to the price and be hard to do - You will easily find a new home for your saw - I'll keep my eyes open in my neck of the woods - with time one will show up. The best to you my friend ! If anyone hears about any older 18 inch hegners in the Western NY area let me know- Tony OCtoolguy
