mikesscrollsaw
the blue background makes the wood pop out...definetly the second one.
igadavis
I like the second one because of the contrast with the wood. They both are great pictures with no reflections or shadows to distract for the fine work.
Clayton717
I like them both but like the blue just a little more.
WigWag Workshop
I also give a slight edge to the 2nd one - both are wonderful!
wedo scroll
John, your picture is sharp and clear with a nice focus. IMHO what you really want is to draw attention to is your work and the grain of the wood. To do that you need a contrasting color that complements the rich grain and the brown tones. The first picture has a light tone so that doesn't allow the picture pop, the second has lots of contrast, however the blue is a bit too bright so it competes for attention. So you could either mute that color or change to a soft dark brown background. Bill
wombatie
Definately the second one. Marg

elum
Its a toss up. The second one washes out some of the wood color. My Final vote is for the first one.
