JTTHECLOCKMAN Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Strarted taking some photos for my web site and was looking for opinions as to which background would look better for a web site??? Thanks for the replys. Quote
scrollsaw22 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Think I prefer the second... Quote
mikesscrollsaw Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 the blue background makes the wood pop out...definetly the second one. Quote
igadavis Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I like the second one because of the contrast with the wood. They both are great pictures with no reflections or shadows to distract for the fine work. Quote
Clayton717 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I like them both but like the blue just a little more. Quote
WigWag Workshop Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 I also give a slight edge to the 2nd one - both are wonderful! Quote
wedo scroll Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 John, your picture is sharp and clear with a nice focus. IMHO what you really want is to draw attention to is your work and the grain of the wood. To do that you need a contrasting color that complements the rich grain and the brown tones. The first picture has a light tone so that doesn't allow the picture pop, the second has lots of contrast, however the blue is a bit too bright so it competes for attention. So you could either mute that color or change to a soft dark brown background. Bill Quote
wombatie Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Definately the second one. Marg Quote
elum Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 Its a toss up. The second one washes out some of the wood color. My Final vote is for the first one. Quote
Radh1 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 OK OK you all have convinced me.After reading your explanation's it does "pop"better with the blue backround.I change my vote to the 2nd one..lol Quote
