Popular Post OSU Buckeye
When I saw a youtube video of someone who did a scroll saw tutorial on the tree of life....it convinced me to get into the hobby. So I bought a scroll saw and made this my first project. I decided to attach a photo as well for the background. Also added a white backing so the light would show through a bit. I put the finished tree of life on the window sill. Scrappile, Birchbark, Woodrush and 25 others

Dennisfm56
I have done 4 different tree of life patterns and you sir did very well. I can't wait to steal your idea of a picture to put behind. I've filled with epoxy but never really liked the result. OSU Buckeye
wombatie
I think that's THE best tree of life I have seen. You brought it to life with the photo in the background. Excellent work. Marg heppnerguy and OSU Buckeye 1

Thx.....the wood was birch plywood (the label also says Balt---though I do not know what Balt means). I did 2 coats of stain and 3 coats of polyurethane spray. Great cutting. The use of a photo was from someone on youtube who used a sunset photo. I decided to use a photo I had taken of the two ducks swimming because it was simple and the focus point is on the ducks on the right, their paddling wake on the left, and a brighter "sky" section showing through the top of the tree through the smaller holed out sections. It really depends what effect you are looking for. I may do some others with different photos down the road. amazingkevin and barb.j.enders
Denny Knappen
Very well done. Your use of the photo brings it up a whole nother notch and the light behind creates that special effect. OSU Buckeye and heppnerguy 1
rdatelle
If that's your first cut then I can't wait to see what else you do. That looks great. Love the background. That's a perfect picture for that piece. OSU Buckeye and heppnerguy 1
Brianr24
Very nice! I was trying to figure out how u scrolled two ducks in the back round. But I think they are defect in the wood. Looks good. Like two ducks. Very nice OSU Buckeye
Fish
Great work! Keep searching there are many different patterns out there. Some are great patterns. Try pintrest, I found several patterns by shutterstock. If you want a project, you can use the Tree of Life from celticartstudio.com ONCE, if you give Jen Delyth credit when you post it. I've done it if you want to see what it is, it's in my library. A project well worth it.
