I'm thinking some kind of shroud around the 2 drum heads with screened dust ctrl hole in the back? Would love to see what others have done - pics are most welcome Thoughts? It works well but I have a strong dust collector and am pulling around 650-700 cfm thru it. For somethings like sanding on the lathe or drill press, I have tried using a bell mouth hood on the end of the dust collection hose. It seems to work much more effectively than just the end of a hose. Rolf Posted January 11, 2020 Report Share Posted January 11, 2020 I have my system connected to A JET Vortex 1100 VX. It is a Cyclone wanabe, that is surprisingly effective, with a 2 micron cartridge filter that is the original. I bought it in Dec 2011. It has had a lot of chips and dust go through it. especially fine dust when doing Intarsia. 4"pvc pipe, longest run ~30 ft. and 4 elbows and a 2" reducer to my bench top router at the end of the run, still lots of suction.
