Ordering a grinder and sanding kit help please

The lower speed was a good choice, I have a Sand Flee that runs at that speed and I have used a flex shaft on the output shaft on occasion.

Regarding using a drill press for small sanding drums.  You really are not putting much lateral pressure on a sanding drum, if that damages the drill press it was not very good to start with.

I just find it easier to control my sanding on a horizontal drum, with the exception of my spindle sander.

TOYS! Need more space! My next toy will not be woodworking related and about 4K

I decided to go with the slow speed grinder, mainly because of the price and I got it for 17.00 after my Amazon rewards points. I can always upgrade later if I get good enough to sell any of this stuff. I can always take off a drum and do what Dave said, add a sanding mop. I ordered the flex drums from Judy's website tonight, too. Can I stop spending money now? heh

"Hobby", if looked up in the dictionary, means " empty wallet".

FWIW, that abrasive cleaning stick can be replaced for free.  You can use the slow of a  flip flop or the rubber sole of an old sneaker to clean the sanding sleeves, works great on all my sanders.

That's great information. I've always used an old natural eraser but they can be a bit costly, I like the idea of a rubber sole sneaker. Heck I sometimes see them discarded on the side of the road...(lol)

The last hobby I had turned into a business and I just retired from it last year. I was making gel candles, then figured out there were no supplies for that particular craft and I opened a website and ran it for 19 years. That would have turned into an empty wallet, too, if I hadn't gotten into the supply business. I guess I emptied out everyone else's wallets? lol

I knew I didn't throw away that old pair of shoes for some reason. Great tip. My flex drums are coming Friday, I want to keep those clean for sure.

Make sure you clean the crud off your shoe soles so you don't "crud up" your sanding sleeves. I did try using my shoe on my sanding mop but when I laid on the floor I couldn't get my foot up high enough to reach my drill press. Too high.
