Ouch, get well soon. DO the exercises that they give you to do without fail, I promise although painful, they do make all the difference...  My husband had both his replaced last summer whilst a friend had just his left one done.  Tony did his exercises religiously 4 times a day and followed his instructions to the 'T' and he's totally fine now with pretty much a full range of motion. His friend however, lovely though he is, didn't really do a lot of the exercises as he said that the 'pain' was too much. They can be testing that's for sure, but he is still having problems with the range of motion he can get out of his new knee as the tendons and muscles never truly recovered. I wish you all the luck in the world with your recovery because to live without that 'crippling' knee pain is wonderful my hubby says. 

ps,  I think the hot tub helped too 🤣
