baggetta Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 Young kids enjoy a good story about magic and wizardry and this little project will help light up their eyes when you tell them the story of King Arthur and Excalibur (you can Google this if you are not familiar with it). In a nutshell Arthur became King because he was the only one who was able to pull the sword, Excalibur, from the rock. Well, you can make this imitation rock and sword to demonstrate the story, using your scroll saw. You will need some 1/4" birch ply, glue and a lot of enthusiasm, but it is really not that difficult. I have the pattern here, but it needs some explanation on assembly so I put together a little video on YouTube to help you. Once you have the project assembled you can drop in the sword and remove it easily, but you might want to put in a little retractable nail through the back of the rock and into the sword to make it impossible to remove, until you get to that part of the story. Hope you enjoy this. Free pattern frankorona, amazingkevin, Scrolling Steve and 3 others 4 2 Quote
