What does your shop look like?

I'm sure this has probably been asked a thousand times but I find it interesting to see where people work out of whether it's for their vehicles or wood projects.  If you are willing and as long as it's suitable for work, what does your shop look like?

Here's mine.  My shop is five miles away from the house in my friend's pole barn where we have the wood shop and I store three of my motorcycles along with his.  Until this year, working out there during winter time just really didn't happen much as we didn't have very good heat sources.  However, we finally insulated the wood shop area and I bought a torpedo heater which makes it way more comfortable now.  I've done more winter time projects this year than any of the previous 7 years I have had access there combined.

My shop is an attached two car garage. My wife used to park her car in it but.....over the years of: “hunny, can you make this? And of course my answer was always yes, I can make that but I need to get another tool. That worked to the point of “ hunny, if I get another tool, you won’t be able to park your car in there! So the garage has been a dedicated shop for many years.

Wow, nice shop and nice space. I have a two car garage. First our vehicles were parked there. Then I partitioned off my half of the garage for a workshop. Then there was no longer for both her car and my motorcycle so the car moved out. Then after no longer able to ride two wheels I bought a CanAm and parked it in the garage. Then when I had to sell the CanAm my wife's car somehow took up residence. So now I have this dinky, cramped and barely usable little 8'X14' space to try and function in. Life is difficult at times.

Rocky, mine is 9 x 13 so together we still don't make a decent sized shop.

What does my shop look like?  A disorganized, cluttered, crowded, cramped storage space for wood scraps and sawdust, with a bunch of tools buried somewhere under the debris.

This is my corner of Tonys workshop !!  Photo taken before I actually used it    I'd be ashamed to show you what it looks like this morning. Don't think I can see my bench !!

Looks different now.. because I've bought a new Hawk, CNC Router, and a Laser since this photo was taken... I've re-arranged it and now it's more cramped because of more tools.. and project cars LOL..

Here is a link to a topic just like this where others actually posted their shops.. when they was clean maybe? LOL.. 

 

My shop was a mess but I took pictures anyway, LOL.. Always figured a clean shop is one where nobody works.. just a hang out place..  I clean up the dust etc.. every day after working... but it still gets dirty etc.. doesn't help when the kids go work in there and don't clean up.. Put my foot down on that one.. they seem to be getting better at cleaning up..

Here's my shop. 24x30 wood shop in back. 24x36 in front for truck and other toys. Every thing in woodshop is on wheels except table saw. Just wheel them out when needed.

I was just asked by my son yesterday if I had a couple pictures of my messy shop.  I sent these to him.  I agree with Karl!

Mine is actually in my basement, about the size of a one car garage.  I love it, has outside door, restroom, close by computer/TV room, close by refrig.... temp controlled year around,,,,,,, sexy calendar on the wall,,,,,, and my wife wants to move!!!@!

LOL that's my shop pre Hurricane Michael.

I'm also in the process of redoing the entire layout so I'll post again when I get closer to being done.

That work bench where the scroll saw sits is no longer. It's now a bunch of shelves for the permanent bench and the new scroll saw bench

Thank you for linking to that.  That also explains why I didn't see it - my search terms weren't working (pictures of shop) so I didn't find it. 

 

I love what pictures are here so far and thank you all for sharing them.

What is really sad was after being in my friend's place after 4 years I actually cleaned my workbench in front of the bikes (taken in 2018)

Yes 1984 300ZX  It's my sons project car as is the Blazer on the other side... and the 3 First Gen Dodge Cummins trucks out in my yard, LOL.. He's a young dreamer of having a million cars.. Got a lot of work to restore all of them. LOL.. He is actually selling the Z and I might be the buyer.. I kinda like that little car.. I like the older 240 thru 280 Z's better..but this is a nice one that we still have the original owners title... just under 100,000 miles on it too.. Biggest issue with the car is it sat a lot of years in florida. and the mice made it a very large hotel for quit a few years.. and because of that.. the interior is junk.. as is some of the wiring.. we've repaired most of the wiring and had it running.. Runs awesome..

I'm fortunate in that my shop is just downstairs in my basement.  Unfortunately my house is heated with electric so there is zero warmth in the basement, so I had to have an electric heater installed.  Takes a while to warm up on those cold New England mornings, but in the summer it is like free air conditioning since it stays nice and cool even on the hottest summer days.  Here's a picture of it after a clean up.
