Popular Post Old Joe Posted February 25, 2020 Popular Post Report Posted February 25, 2020 I really like listening to good guitarists, and Chet Atkins was one of my favorites. I found this Dearing pattern, added my own twist with the backing/frame. I shrunk the size down a little, cut the entire thing with Pegas spiral blades, and cut it on my Pegas saw. The little cuts on the guitar were tedious. Harry Barton, jollyred, Heli_av8tor and 14 others 15 2 Quote

Scrappile Posted February 25, 2020 Report Posted February 25, 2020 I really like the portrait and really really like the way you did the backer and framing. Wish I had the artistic imagination to come up with things like that. Did you do Charles's BB King portrait? Also another guitar player portrait. I may have to looking this one to add to my son's music room. amazingkevin and Old Joe 2 Quote
spirithorse Posted February 25, 2020 Report Posted February 25, 2020 Excellent! Shrinking a Charles Dearing pattern shows that you definitely aren't afraid of a challenge. I also envy anyone that can cut with a spiral blade. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Spirithorse amazingkevin 1 Quote
Tomanydogs Posted February 26, 2020 Report Posted February 26, 2020 I think you did some fantastic cutting on Chet. It stands out well done. amazingkevin and Old Joe 2 Quote

Spirithorse I was totally intimidated by spirals until a couple of months ago. I wish I had used a flat blade on a couple cuts on this one. Dearing patterns are significantly easier and faster with spirals, though I don’t like the “fuzzies” that you don’t get with scroll reverse blades.
