kmmcrafts
I just run across this on one of the FB groups.. Also note about formaldehyde at the bottom I thought was interesting as that had been a hot topic over the years.. https://wolstenholme.com/plywood-products/baltic-birch/?fbclid=IwAR3KaFoa7EmI6IHba5UbtRJHV2KQbfQZBZYYlYEJSXF5sb2s62i5B3Gb2ps jollyred, scrollingforsanity and OCtoolguy 1
Rockytime
Sounds like these guys deal in large bulk orders. Wish they would sell to Home Depot! kmmcrafts, stoney and OCtoolguy 1
Dave Monk
I would love to be able to get 4x8 bb .........5x5 sheets are a pain to handle. stoney
Woodmaster1
I buy it in 5x5 sheets and they cut it down for me into a 3' wide and 2' wide sheets. They have 4x8 sheets but the thinnest it comes is 1/2" and the cost per square foot is more expensive. I will stick with the 5x5 sheets. It wouldn't matter to me what size it is as long as the price is good.. I'm not willing to pay more for a different size.. I also have them cut it down for me.. I usually just have them cut into 3rds. approx. 20"slices so it's easier on my small cheap table saw to cut them down to size.. It's nice that they cut them for free ( for the first 10 minutes of cutting ). I'm a level 4 buyer so I get the 1/8" for $11 and $15 for the 1/4".. I use mostly the 1/8... The larger 4 x 8 sheets I also have them cut down so as I said... don't matter to me what size sheets they are.. I'm just looking at the price anyway.. They know me so well yet they make sure to tell me every time that they charge after 10 minutes of cutting.. funny cause the guy inside tells me this... then the guy outside also tells me this when I get out there.. even if there is only 1 cut, LOL
new2woodwrk
Where are you all getting 5x5 sheets?
kmmcrafts
I get mine at a local lumber store called LLJohnson WorkBench.. They only have two stores one here in MI and one in IN. I'm pretty sure WoodMaster gets his at the same place as I do.. I know he has mentioned it before to me.. I also usually buy large quantity during their annual Wood Expo event that is held usually first part of Sept. and they have big discounts on tools and lumber etc.. pretty big event for such a small town and place with a lot of demos going on etc.. There is a site somewhere that shows dealers for lumber yards and I think sawmills that you can search all over the USA to find suppliers.. I can't think of the site now.. I imagine google would also be a good one.. This sight was mentioned to me many years ago.. but these days with smart phones.. I bet you could ask your phone to do a search for local suppliers.. new2woodwrk
crupiea
I just stick with the 5 x 5 and have them cut it in half. Easier to deal with that way. I like mine with the russian writing on it.
Old Joe
I get 5x5 sheets from a local shop called Exotic Lumber in Frederick, MD. I usually get them to cut it in half. I have not seen Baltic Birch in 4x8 sheets that are the B/BB rated.
