kmmcrafts Posted February 29, 2020 Report Posted February 29, 2020 I was at my local lumber supply shop and they had this setting on the tool showroom floor.. I took a picture of it then forgot until I was there again the other day. It's on sale now so maybe I'll pick up two or three.. https://www.jbtools.com/powermatic-1791331-micro-dust-air-filtration-system/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAtOjyBRC0ARIsAIpJyGPEieVsq6IH7DfZIMRS0Ie8eaHSlta_QLWvPSl56D3sEcgUyIzuxjYaAq0LEALw_wcB Dave Monk, Charlie E, scrollingforsanity and 3 others 2 4 Quote

kmmcrafts Posted March 1, 2020 Author Report Posted March 1, 2020 How many box fans and filters could I buy with the cost of just one of these.. Now the box fan filter deal wouldn't have a electrostatic filter... but dang I bet it'd work bout as good.. I'd like to see this in action... The filter replacement is only $113.. LOL.. For that price they should be able to ship one anywhere in the world for free. I was going to check on an electrostatic filter for my furnace but maybe I will change my mind. Puzzleguy Posted March 3, 2020 Report Posted March 3, 2020 (edited) I started with one of those square metal box fans you can find for like 20-25 bucks at my local Hardware store or local big box store - i bought a pleated cloth like filter for a furnace for fine particles ( think 3m -about 7-10 buck ) the same size as the front of the fan -and taped it on . run the fan on low -and it will do about the same as that 699.00 fan . Their actually was a company that use to enclose those box fans in a metal case with a fiberglass filter medium thats on a roll - that went out of business because of this simple trick ( about 15-20 years ago ) Edited March 3, 2020 by Puzzleguy OCtoolguy 1 Quote
