orangeman
I've been thinking about making name trains as Steve Good has a free pattern for same. Now here is the dilemma : If I wanted to sell 20 name trains at a craft show, how many of each letter should I take? Below pic is from Steve's website: .http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2010/05/alphabet-train-scroll-saw-pattern-all.html bb Dave Monk, OCtoolguy and scrollingforsanity

teachnlearn
I've thought of changing my name to QZZXV. Should kill the spam and phone calls. The Q, Z X and V are silent. Scrappile
If your work sells like my work,,,, one would be more than sufficient. puzzleman, scrollingforsanity, meflick and 1 other 1
dgman
If I were selling these, I would take orders and make them as needed. meflick, scrollingforsanity, OCtoolguy and 1 other 3

My wife said the same thing. However, shipping would be an extra $7.75 via USPS priority mail. I was thinking of charging $5-6 per piece. Not sure if folks would buy when they had to pay for shipping too. Whatya think? bb OCtoolguy, amazingkevin and scrollingforsanity 2
dgman
Just now, orangeman said: Excellent idea! My wife said the same thing. However, shipping would be an extra $7.75 via USPS priority mail. I was thinking of charging $5-6 per piece. Not sure if folks would buy when they had to pay for shipping too. Whatya think? bb Actually, I wouldn’t sell these because of the need to supply all the letters needed by the customer. The same reason I won’t sell the popular dog breed puzzles. If you sell a couple of the dog puzzles then every other person wants their breed, then pretty soon you will need all the breeds in your stock. If you are certain you want to sell the letter trains, then you will need to supply all the letters in the alphabet. scrollingforsanity, OCtoolguy and amazingkevin 2
amazingkevin
Now that I thought about it, If you put Merry Christmas or some other holiday would fill the bill as to how many letters you'll need. Other than that you need to do one line orders or word of mouth . This is just like how many pet portraits do you do to cover all bases! puzzleman, OCtoolguy and MrsN 2
MrsN
I like kevin's idea. take them to the show as a particular word/phrase for sale and then offer orders on custom trains. OCtoolguy and puzzleman

I've been using it for about 15 years and it is great. My wife has it on her computer too. Even if your computer crashes/burns or is lost in a hurricane, all you have to remember is your initial login i.d. and password. One thing to remember. Once you set it up, you never have to do it again. If I'm not mistaken, it's about $20 a year for total peace of mind. puzzleman
