Grandillo?

Hi, 

I was given a piece of grandillo and am looking for suggestions. I also have some purple heart. All I really know is they are pretty and hardwoods. I'm attaching pictures of the pieces.

I think what you have is Garapa. Were I get my lumber they can’t get yellow heart anymore. So I have been using garapa in its place. Both are very hard and make good accent woods when used with other woods. Be sure to wear a mask when cutting. The Purple Heart will darken with age.

Grandillo is more of a red color I think but I have been known to be wrong, ask my wife!

You too huh? Just "celebrated" 50 years together. And I have the whip marks to prove it.

Pretty pretty much covers it. What ever you make from it will be also!!!!

I also have 3/4” Purpleheart and Yellowheart.  Looking for a good project for these.

Thanks so much for the information! Grandillo is what the sticker said and I had never heard of it (just started scrolling in January). Just saw how expensive it was and don't want to mess it up too bad lol

If you google Grandillo wood you will see that what you have isn’t grandillo.
