OCtoolguy Posted April 3, 2020 Report Share Posted April 3, 2020 I got to wondering about sources for wood that we all use. The one nearest me is Cherokee Wood Products. I have recommended them in the past and I know a few folks have tried them. I just contacted them to see if they are considered "essential" at this time and they are open for business. I told them I would spread the work here. Dave Monk Posted April 4, 2020 Report Share Posted April 4, 2020 Ray, I always have 1/8" and 1/2" on hand. I use 1/8" for scrolling and 1/2" for backers. They were doing a pickup only until Michigan went on stay at home order. I missed getting some Baltic Birch by a few days. Now I have to wait awhile, still have plenty of hardwood. I still have about half of it left... because I've been working with hardwood the last two months now, LOL.. Got a lot of hardwood to go through before I run out.. don't think I could run out if i tried this year and maybe half of next year, LOL .. But once I start kicking out the ornaments again this early summertime..... that BB ply will be gone in a couple weeks easily.. so hopefully things will be open back up by the time I need it.. No interaction with the employees. If they deliver you must maintain 10’ separation and they takes picture no signing the invoice. The only time I had to get out of the truck was to pay for my order. It was a strange setup though. They had the front door propped open with a folding table keeping you from going inside. The clerk was at a counter about 15 feet away. I had to read my credit card information to him. Anyone in the area could hear. That was really uncomfortable. Ain't going back until all this is over! Can’t pay the bills with a goat. I suppose if the wood dealer is in the country, they might want a goat, but most wood dealers are in the city! They don’t want a goat! A goat supplies milk, cheese, and if really needed meat. Who needs plywood? Can't eat it, Can't wash your hands with it, and I'm not sure a cut square of it will wipe behind.
